That's me :)

About

My work is structured between faces and their fading expressions. The conflict between lust and restraints, and the expression of desire and obedience strive from my public and private life onto my intimate work inside the studio.

As we are always encountering people that most times we tend to forget their features yet not the feelings or impressions they leave with us, those details affect us on a number of levels. Just like the byzantine iconography of saints – from which I draw heavily on my work and technique – inlay in our memory the holiness and the majestic, I found myself mystifying the simple and the mediocre and valuing the desire and the fear of desire.

Throughout various methods, be it ink etchings or large acrylic paintings, the process remains the same how ever different the subject may be. Human beings brought into their canonized representation from the “earthly” features that disgrace them.

From portrait to human figure, from scenic to epic, in the continuous drawing process, I find myself redefining the image of the one, the man, the saint and the lustful.

At the end my Human is born on my canvas without the need to separate anything holy from lust; Lust creates a desire and from that desire, aspiration of living life is instinctively created.
